Connect eBay and set up your policies

Connect your eBay account, pick business policies and shipping, and fix common publish errors.

Publishing straight to eBay is on paid plans. On the free trial you can download a CSV and upload it in eBay Seller Hub. For the full walkthrough, see the account setup guide.

Connect your account

  1. Go to Settings → eBay account and click Connect eBay.
  2. Sign in on eBay’s own page and allow access. bulkcard never sees your eBay password.
  3. Back in bulkcard, the page shows Connected with your eBay user name.

Business policies and shipping

eBay needs a shipping, payment and returns policy on every listing. On the same page, under Business policies, pick a default for each. No policies yet? Our eBay business policies guide shows how to create them.

  1. Pick your Shipping (fulfillment), Payment and Returns policies.
  2. Fill in your Ship-from address. City and postcode are required.
  3. Add a Default listing footer if you like. It goes at the end of every description.
  4. Click Save eBay settings.

Your shipping policy is the default for every batch. To use a different one for a batch, choose it on the publish screen.

Common errors

  • eBay account not connected, Business policies not selected or Ship-from address not configured: the publish screen shows a button that takes you to the right setting.
  • Finish setting up selling on eBay: your eBay account can buy but isn’t set up to sell yet. eBay needs a few more details, such as how you’ll be paid. Finish that on eBay, then publish again.
  • eBay monthly listing limit reached: eBay limits how many items your account can list each month. Ask eBay to raise it, or publish the rest when the limit resets.
  • eBay had a temporary fault: nothing was listed and nothing is wrong with your card. Set the card back to ready and publish again.
