Questions and answers

Getting started

Is this affiliated with The Pokémon Company or eBay?+

No. bulkcard is an independent tool. We integrate with eBay through their public Seller Hub CSV format and their OAuth API; Pokémon and eBay trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Do you support non-Pokémon TCGs?+

Yes. One Piece, Disney Lorcana, Dragon Ball Super Fusion World and Magic: The Gathering are live alongside Pokémon. Yu-Gi-Oh! is coming next.

Scanning

Does it work on regular phone photos?+

Yes — that's the whole point. The identification pipeline was tuned on glare, angles, mediocre lighting, and finger shadows. You don't need a copy stand.

How accurate is the identification?+

Average confidence sits around 91% across mixed-condition phone shots. Cards under our threshold get flagged for review — you fix the few outliers, the rest goes through automatically.

What if a card is unrecognised?+

It lands in the review grid flagged for attention. You can rename it, drop it from the batch, or leave it and we'll skip it from the CSV — your call.

What happens to my photos?+

They're processed for identification. The derived data (name, set, grade, hash) is stored against your batch; the originals are kept only as long as your retention setting allows.

Can I scan my cards with a document scanner?+

Yes, with a Ricoh fi-series scanner on Windows. Scan front and back in one pass, then import the whole scan folder and fronts and backs pair up by filename. The scanner setup guide has the exact PaperStream Capture profile.

eBay

Can I customise the listing description?+

Yes. Templates are editable per-batch and saved as defaults for the next run. Sensible defaults seed the first batch so you don't have to think about it.

Does it change anything on eBay?+

No. It only reads your sales. Your listings, prices and orders on eBay stay exactly as they are.

How quickly do sales show up?+

Within 15 minutes. Tap Check eBay on the Pick list to look straight away.

What about cards I listed outside bulkcard?+

They still show, marked Listed outside bulkcard with their eBay custom label, so nothing goes missing from your packing run.

Which plans include it?+

Every plan. It’s opt-in, so turn it off any time in Settings → eBay.

Billing

What counts as a "scan"?+

One Claude-vision identification = one scan. Failed identifications and cards you drop from the review grid before publishing don't count against your monthly limit.

What if I go over the limit?+

We pause new scans for the rest of the cycle and prompt you to upgrade or wait. Nothing gets charged automatically without your say-so.

Can I switch tiers any time?+

Yes — both upgrades and downgrades take effect immediately. Stripe prorates the unused portion of your old tier as a credit on your account and applies it to your next invoice. Your billing cycle also resets to the day you switch.

Do you offer annual pricing?+

Yes — every paid tier has a monthly and an annual plan. Annual is roughly 10% cheaper per month and is billed as one charge up front. Prices above show monthly by default; flip the toggle to see annual.

What if I need more than 5,000 scans / month?+

That's the Ultimate tier — custom monthly volume, optional white-label and multi-store options, and priority engineering support. Hit "Contact sales" above and we'll come back with a quote shaped to your workflow.

Inventory and Multi-Variation listings

Which plans include Inventory?+

Single Card Listings in Inventory is on every paid plan. The Multi-Variation Listings view is on every plan, including the free trial.

If I change a price in Inventory, does eBay change too?+

Yes. Every unsold copy of the card gets the new price. Copies that are live on eBay change on eBay. Copies that aren’t listed change in bulkcard, ready for when you list them. Sold copies are never touched.

Why does one card show more than one box?+

Inventory shows one row per card, across all your batches. If you scanned the same card into different boxes, the copies sit on that one row. Click the card to see which box each copy is in.

When should I use a Multi-Variation listing?+

When you have lots of lower-value cards. Buyers pick their card from one listing, instead of you running a listing per card. eBay allows one condition and up to 250 options per listing, and eBay Australia needs a Pro seller account. More in Single-card or Multi-Variation listings.
